Home Remedies for Acne

A trip to the grocery or drug store will let you see how many products are cashing in on being the best cure for acne. However, these products are very expensive. They also contain harsh chemicals that can only aggravate your skin problem. And mostly, too, they don’t come without some nasty side effects.

That is why more and more people are reaching for alternative acne treatments. There are all-natural remedies that are very inexpensive, and can be in your kitchen right this instant. Plus, they contain no harsh chemicals, making them safe for use even on sensitive skin.

First things first: be wary of what you place in your mouth. Eating oily and fatty food items will exaggerate production of sebum, worsening your skin problem. Consumption of refined sugar is also a no-no. Instead, load up on foods that are naturally rich in omega-3 fatty acids and zinc. Have lots of chicken, tuna, salmon, seeds, yogurt, beans and nuts. Stick to vegetable and flaxseed oils when cooking.

After washing your face thoroughly with a mild soap, you can try on some all-natural face masks. Crack open an egg, ditch the yolk, then beat the white. Then apply it on your face and let it stay there for at least 15 minutes before rinsing it off. You may also cook plain oatmeal the usual way. After letting it cool, simply apply on affected areas and let sit there for a while before rinsing.

You may also grind orange peels with some water to create your very own homemade orange face mask. Apply liberally the thick paste on affected skin and let dry for a few minutes before removing. Aloe vera is also great for drying up acne and removing scars. Simply break off a leaf and rub the juice on problem areas.

Lemon or lime juice will make a great substitute for those harsh astringents. Simply apply on clean and dry face with a cotton ball. You may also use apple cider vinegar or just plain vinegar. Tea tree oil is loaded with antioxidants. Make a cup of it, let cool, and apply with a cotton ball. Simply place in the ref the remaining ones for next application.

The best cure for acne need not carry a popular brand name or a steep price tag. Natural ones are cheap, accessible and very effective. Plus they’re milder and won’t cause some nasty side effects.

dont-neglect-your-skin-begin-a-skin-care-routine-today

Since your skin is the largest organ on your body, it has some very important roles. First of all, it protects our internal organs by holding them compactly inside and it acts as a front line of defense that is able to keep infection and can keep environment temperatures away from our internal organs. The skin is also our indicator when something isn’t right internally. Since the skin has such an important role, we should do our best to take good care of it.

Now that you have a clearer understanding of the important roles your skin has, its time to think about the daily toxins and exposures to the elements it is receiving. Your skin faces various elements from day to day such as the heat, cold, wind, sun, rain and pollutants. Knowing that your skin is exposed to the elements and pollutants, it should be no surprise that your skin is having moisture stolen from it. Moisture and oils that are necessary to keep it looking healthy and feeling smooth.

The skin is made up of millions of skin cells. Your skins cells are working round the clock to make new cells to replace the dead ones that are lost each day naturally. When you damage deep cells in your skin, you actually aid in creating wrinkles.

Turn on the television today and you are bombarded with infomercials and commercials for skin care products that promise to erase wrinkles or get rid of acne. Although there are many great products out there that do work very well, there are many more products that do not work. Many of these products now contain herbs where even 50 years ago it wasn’t really common to find natural herbs in facial cleansers and moisturizers.

Did you know that for thousands of years people have taken care of their skin by using homemade herbal products? Back in 3000 BC, the Egyptians started using fenugreek and roses on their skin for preventing wrinkles. many herbs like Aloe Vera have been found to be very good for the skin. Aloe Vera is a tried and true herb because it has many beneficial properties such as it is anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and has recently been found to have immune-stimulating agents.

Most people seem to have a general concept of skin care and so they may sometimes put on sunscreen when they know they will be in direct sun or they will wash their face with soap and water here or there. Sunscreen is an essential weapon to prevent sun damage but do not just lather up on sunscreen on the days you know you will be exposed to the sun such as visiting the beach. you should be applying a daily sunscreen to at least your face and neck in the form of a moisturizer that contains SPF or makeup that has SPF. As far as soap and water facial washings go, you need to use facial cleansers that are designed specifically for the face. Regular soap is much to harsh and drying on the face.
